Graduation 2021 Letter

posted in: Latest News 0

Dear Class of 2021 and families,

We hope this letter finds you safe and well, as we have entered the second last month of your final year of your public school education. Just wanting to give each of you an update on the plans for the culmination of your high school career, our FFSS graduation plans.

Our graduation committee has been hard at work since our first meeting back in late winter and we have been meeting regularly, every two weeks, as we continue to plan.

Key graduation information is regularly shared with students through the Google classroom – Grade 12’s Class of 2021. Please ensure that you monitor and check the classroom regularly. This week, the 2021 Self-Nominated Awards are out and ready for students to nominate themselves for this group of graduation awards.

Planning Updates:
As our FFSS graduation team has been planning this year’s graduation, we have guidelines from the school board, TLDSB, our local Health Unit, and provincial restrictions that we must abide by, as our key focus is to keep our school community safe. With TLDSB schools currently closed and if they were to re-open, they would continue to be closed to non-students and staff, thus we will again be celebrating our Graduates through a Virtual Graduation Celebration on Tuesday June 29, 2021 at 7pm. We hope that our graduates will be able to do a safe diploma pick-up on Monday & Tuesday June 28-29, but this will be confirmed, as with the current Stay At Home Order, this is not permitted at this point in time.

In terms of Graduation Photos, unfortunately our initial date had to be cancelled due to the Provincial Lockdown, but we have another date set for the first week of June, providing that we are returned to in-person learning.

We will continue to update our graduates and families on graduation plans and photos and our FFSS staff will do our best to provide a celebration and send off of the FFSS Class of 2021.

Sincerely,
FFSS Graduation Committee
